Home remedy for Mosquito Bites | Natural Treatment

Mosquito Bites

Most mosquito bites are harmless. Mosquitoes bite because they are attracted to human blood. The bite, which might not appear until hours later, creates a bump that is typically swollen, sore, or itchy.

1. Lemon:

Apply lemon juice to the bites to help reduce the chance of developing an infection.

2. Minced Onion or Garlic:

Apply minced onion or garlic directly onto the affected area. Leave it on for a few minutes, then wash it off.

3. Baking Soda:

Make a thick paste of baking soda and water. Then apply this paste generously to the affected area. You should feel the swelling and itching subside shortly afterwards.

4. Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is another excellent remedy for mosquito bites, as well as many other conditions. Not only will it help ease the itching and swelling from the bit, but it will also aid in healing the wound. You can use fresh inner leaf gel directly from an aloe plant or organic aloe juice. They both work well at providing relief.

5. Salt:

Create a paste using a few drops of water and a small amount of table salt. Apply the paste onto the area.

Benefits Of Spinach And Caution | Vegetables Hub

Benefits Of Spinach And Caution

Spinach is a nutrient rich plant with many possible health benefits including asthma prevention.

Popeye was definitely on to something. Spinach is a super food loaded with tons of nutrients in a low calorie package. Dark, leafy greens like spinach are important for skin, hair, and bone health. They also provide protein, iron, vitamins, and minerals.
The possible health benefits of consuming spinach include improving blood glucose control in people with diabetes, lowering the risk of cancer, reducing blood pressure, improving bone health, lowering the risk of developing asthma, and more. Spinach has been used by various cultures throughout history, notably Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, and South East Asian cuisines. It can be incorporated quite easily into many diets because it is cheap and easy to prepare.

Fast facts on spinach:

The first cookbook in English, “Forme of Cury,” mentioned spinach when it was published in the year 1390.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), a 100-gram serving of spinach has 28.1 micrograms of vitamin C, 34 percent of the daily recommendation.
Types include savoy spinach, flat spinach, and semi-savoy spinach.
Spinach can be added as an ingredient to many dishes and can either be cooked or served raw.
Possible health benefits of spinach
Spinach has the following possible health benefits:
Diabetes management

Spinach contains an antioxidant known as alpha-lipoic acid, which has been shown to lower glucose levels, increase insulin sensitivity, and prevent oxidative stress-induced changes in patients with diabetes. Studies on alpha-lipoic acid have also shown decreases in peripheral neuropathy and autonomic neuropathy in diabetics.

However, most studies have used intra-venous alpha-lipoic acid and it is uncertain whether oral supplementation would elicit the same benefits.

Cancer prevention

Spinach and other green vegetables contain chlorophyll, which has been shown to be effective at blocking the carcinogenic effects of heterocyclic amines, which are generated when grilling foods at a high temperature.

Asthma prevention

The risks for developing asthma are lower in people who consume a high amount of certain nutrients. One of these nutrients is beta-carotene, of which spinach is an excellent source. Apricots, broccoli, cantaloupe, pumpkin, and carrots are also rich sources of beta-carotene.

Lowering blood pressure

Due to its high potassium content, spinach is recommended for people with high blood pressure; it can help reduce the effects of sodium in the body. A low potassium intake may be just as big of a risk factor for developing high blood pressure as a high sodium intake. Other high-potassium foods include avocado, banana, beets, potatoes, tomatoes, lima beans, and oranges.

Bone health

Low intakes of vitamin K have been associated with a higher risk of bone fracture. Adequate vitamin K consumption is important for good health, as it acts as a modifier of bone matrix proteins, improves calcium absorption, and may reduce urinary excretion of calcium.

Promotes regularity

Spinach is high in fiber and water, both of which help to prevent constipation and promote a healthy digestive tract.

Healthy skin and hair

Spinach is high in vitamin A, which is necessary for sebum production to keep hair moisturized. Vitamin A is also necessary for the growth of all bodily tissues, including skin and hair. Spinach and other leafy greens high in vitamin C are imperative for the building and maintenance of collagen, which provides structure to skin and hair. Iron deficiency is a common cause of hair loss, which may be prevented by an adequate intake of iron-rich foods, like spinach.

Nutritional breakdown of spinach
One cup of raw spinach contains:

27 calories
0.86 grams of protein
30 milligrams of calcium
0.81 grams of iron
24 milligrams of magnesium
167 milligrams of potassium
2,813 micrograms of Vitamin A
58 micrograms of folate
Spinach also contains vitamin K, fiber, phosphorus, and thiamine. Most of the calories in spinach come from protein and carbohydrates.

Potassium

Spinach is one of the best sources of dietary potassium, weighing in at 839 milligrams per cup (cooked). To compare, one cup of banana has about 539 milligrams of potassium.

Iron

A lack of iron in the diet can effect how efficiently the body uses energy. Spinach is a great source of iron, along with lentils, tuna, and eggs. Make sure to combine vitamin C-rich foods with plant iron to improve absorption.

Calcium

Spinach contains approximately 250 milligrams of calcium per cup (cooked), however, it is less easily absorbed than calcium from sources like dairy products. Spinach has a high oxalate content, which binds to calcium making it dificult for our bodies to use.

Magnesium

Spinach is also one of the best sources of dietary magnesium, which is necessary for energy metabolism, maintaining muscle and nerve function, heart rhythm, a healthy immune system, and maintaining blood pressure. Magnesium also plays a part in hundreds more biochemical reactions that occur in the body.

Incorporating more spinach into your diet

Spinach is a very versatile vegetable and can be eaten raw or cooked. It is available fresh, frozen, or canned. Here are some tips to try to incorporate more spinach into a daily routine:

Incorporate spinach into pastas, soups, and casseroles.
Lightly sautee spinach in a small amount of extra virgin olive oil. Season with freshly ground black pepper and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Add spinach to a wrap, sandwich, or flatbread.
Make a dip with spinach, like spinach and artichoke dip or spinach goat cheese dip.
Add a handful of fresh spinach to an omelet or scramble, or throw a handful into a smoothie.
Risks associated with consuming spinach
If someone is taking blood-thinners such as Coumadin (warfarin) it is important that they do not suddenly begin to eat more or less foods containing vitamin K, which plays a large role in blood clotting.

Consuming too much potassium can be harmful for those whose kidneys are not fully functional. If a patient’s kidneys are unable to remove excess potassium from the blood, it could be fatal.

Apple Pie Recipe | Kitchen Hub

This Apple Pie recipe is simple and easy. I think that this pie does not need any introduction, since it has become one of the most popular pie.

Dough:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon fine salt

14 tablespoons cold butter, diced

1 large egg, lightly beaten with 2 tablespoons cold water

Filling:

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

3 pounds baking apples like Golden Delicious, Cortland, or Mutsu

2/3 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling on the pie

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Generous pinch of ground nutmeg

1 large egg, lightly beaten

Directions

Make the dough by hand. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt. Using your fingers, work the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles yellow corn meal mixed with bean sized bits of butter. (If the flour/butter mixture gets warm, refrigerate it for 10 minutes before proceeding.) Add the egg and stir the dough together with a fork or by hand in the bowl. If the dough is dry, sprinkle up to a tablespoon more of cold water over the mixture.

Make the dough in a food processor. With the machine fitted with the metal blade, pulse the flour, sugar, and salt until combined. Add the butter and pulse until it resembles yellow corn meal mixed with bean size bits of butter, about 10 times. Add the egg and pulse 1 to 2 times; don’t let the dough form into a ball in the machine. (If the dough is very dry add up to a tablespoon more of cold water.) Remove the bowl from the machine, remove the blade, and bring the dough together by hand.

Why is seawater salty ? | Natural Hub

It is necessary to go back billions of years in history to understand and find the roots of this phenomenon.

In the past, volcanoes almost never extinguished, always erupting, which released a huge amount of carbon dioxide, chlorine, sulfur as well as water vapor into the air.

A hundred million years later, the earth cooled down, causing condensation of water vapor which then caused long and torrential rains.

It rained like never before, huge amounts of water poured on our planet Earth, dragging with it all the gases propelled by volcanoes, they are called acid rain.

When it falls back to earth, these rains cause erosion.

Acidic water, through its runoff on land and the relief found on its way, creates rivers, seas and oceans.

The erosion mechanism charges acidic water with mineral salts, nibbling on the rocks, which they transport to its final cradle, the seas and oceans.

The salt most present in the seas and oceans is sodium chloride, which is used in our kitchen and more precisely at the table.

Why can’t we breathe underwater ? | Natural Hub

Exploring the depths of the seas with all the richness they contain, fish of all colours, luxuriant vegetation and caves, has fascinated humans for decades. But is this possible without using scuba diving equipment?

Well, no, because humans can’t breathe underwater. Our respiratory system is based on two stages, inhalation and exhalation.

Our lungs breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. The oxygen used by humans is in its gaseous form, and unfortunately for us, the oxygen in the water is dissolved and our lungs are unable to extract it.

Fish need their gills to pump water from their mouths and extract oxygen from them.

So, to breathe underwater, you must have gills.

Man can always realize his deep-sea dreams by taking air with him to breathe.

Why do trees lose their leaves in autumn ? | Natural Hub

Nature has given trees the means to defend themselves against bad weather, but is that enough?

Trees in autumn adapt to the cold, the trunk protected by the bark, the roots by the soil, only the leaves are confronted with the rigor of the climate.

The drop in temperature and the decrease in warmth time mean that the leaves no longer receive sap, which is an essential nutrient for the survival of the leaves.

The leaves then feed on their provisions, before dehydrating, hardening and eventually falling.

The color of the leaves deteriorates as the sunlight is reduced, which mainly influences deciduous leaves.

Unlike deciduous leaves, evergreen leaves in conifers such as pine, cedar or spruce keep their leaves because they are needle-shaped or flake-shaped and have much smaller exposure surfaces.

Deciduous leaves are more allergic to cold than evergreens, which resist better by keeping their autumn robes.

Personal Finance Tips That Don’t Require Frugality And How To save Money.

“It’s not about your resources, it’s about your resourcefulness.”

– Tony Robbins

Be Creative To Afford What You Want

By following the conventional path of “school to loan to university to work” you risk running into serious debt. Being creative is a potential way to lessen or eliminate that.

Maybe finding a different and cheaper way of doing the same thing, doing a yard sale or getting a side job… Put your mind to it and you may find ways to get a financial boost.

The Problem With Mutual Funds

When you buy mutual funds, you are charged a purchase fee upfront. This is a one-time payment to the fund management institution. Annually, you will be charged with a percentage of management fees, commonly known as “expense ratio”, which can be expensive.

Beware when advisors at your bank recommend mutual funds to buy. They might be earning a sales commission.

Common Recurring Expenses

• Financial fees. Consider negotiating them with your banker or changing banks.

• Interest for short-term debt. If you cannot avoid it completely, then use a bank that charges less interest.

• Stocks brokerage account fees. Usually comes as monthly account fees and trading fees.

• Mutual funds management fees or “expense ratio.” Those are charged annually and can go over 2%.

Reduce Recurring Expenses

One way to save money is to identify and cut down on recurring expenses that don’t add value to your life. A good rule of thumb is to cancel if it is something you might want to use “someday.”

Even if the recurring expense offers you value, you can investigate how you can reduce it without sacrificing comfort in your daily life.

Automating For Better Personal Finances

• Saving: automatically transfer every month from your income into a savings account.

• Investing: do “dollar-cost averaging” if you’re familiar with the cave eats of trading stocks, ETFs, bonds or mutual funds. It consists of a stock trading account set to automatically buy them for a fixed amount of money every month.

• Reinvesting: reinvest the yields from your investments by instructing your manager to buy stocks with the money.

Automation Is Easier Than Discipline

You should automate what you can so you don’t have to keep off the discipline to do those things.

Automating aspects of your personal finance canafford you more time and mental capacity to focus on other aspects of life.

Saving Through Frugality

Frugality cannot be the sole cornerstone of our personal finance strategy.

Because we can’t save more than what we earn and saving by itself leads to losses, due to inflation devaluing your money.

Charity for deceased parents

Monthly allocation for parents

Keep a share of monthly income for deceased parents

FOR THOSE OF US THAT LOST THEIR PARENTS;

DO YOU STILL SHARE YOUR SALARY WITH THEM

SUBHANALLAH! WHAT A REMINDER STORY: –

One day, while sitting next to a friend, I noticed that he was busy redistributing his salary.

1. Utility: 5000
2. Rent: 6000
3. Medicine: 2000
4. Mum: 3000
5. Dad: 3000

I knew his parents were no more so curiously asked him about the money he allocated for them. He smiled back and answered.

“Yes, my parents are no more, yes they are gone but that does not mean that they are gone from my heart. They are very much with me. They will always be in my heart. They need me more now. They need my duas and sadaqas, which I regularly do for their welfare. Shouldn’t I be doing this much for them? Remember, the haq (rights) of parents do not seize with their death…”

Subhanallah, doesn’t that make you think right?

May Allah bless our parents.

A time for retrospection: when last did we do sadaqah on behalf of our parents whether still living or deceased?

Food for thought and a reminder for you , YES you , to everyone and me too!

Amazing 17 Natural Beauty Tips | Must Know

Amazing 17 Beauty Tips | Must Know

How to Keep Your Skin Beautiful
Your skin protects your body, but that’s not all. It’s the face you present to the world. When healthy, it’s a source of beauty. The choices you make every day — what you eat, where you go, how you feel — affect how your skin looks. Use this visual guide to keep your skin youthful, healthy, and wrinkle-free.

You’ve Got Food on Your Face
Want good skin? Watch your diet. Higher intakes of vitamin C and a lower intake of fats and carbohydrates are associated with better appearance as your skin ages. Changing your diet will help your looks. Foods rich in antioxidants, such as fish, fruits, and vegetables, seem to help protect skin. Some studies suggest that to avoid breakouts, go for complex carbohydrates (like whole grains and pasta) and healthy protein. Dairy may also be linked to acne flares.

Eat Your Vitamins
Your anti-aging cream may contain vitamin C or E. Put these antioxidants to work from the inside, too. Eating foods rich in these vitamins, plus the mineral selenium, can help protect your skin against sun damage. They may even help reverse signs of aging, like wrinkles and skin discoloration.

Run Away From Aging Skin
Exercise benefits every part of your body — including your largest organ, the skin. Working out improves circulation, helping nourish the skin. Better blood flow brings more oxygen and nutrients and may help your skin produce collagen, which staves off wrinkles. Don’t fret about sweat — exercise will not clog your pores. Wash your face right after a workout and avoid tight headbands, which can trap sweat and irritate skin.

Get Your Beauty Rest
Burn the candle at both ends for a few nights, and you may see it reflected in your face: Dark circles under the eyes, pale skin, and puffy eyes. Getting 7-8 hours a night will keep your body and skin in top shape. It matters how you sleep, too — rest your face on the pillow in the same position for years, and you’ll get wrinkles where the skin is pressed against the pillow. Sleeping on your stomach will worsen bags under your eyes. Solution? Sleep on your back.

How Pregnancy Changes Your Skin
Stretch marks — 90% of pregnant women get them. They may fade after delivery. Moisturizers can slightly improve the appearance of stretch marks. Prescription vitamin A creams or laser therapy may help too, but they should not be used while you are pregnant. Acne is another common skin problem, caused by the extra hormones in your body. Your best bet for avoiding breakouts is to wash your face twice a day and use an oil-free moisturizer. Ask your doctor before using any acne products.

Avoiding Melasma
Some women develop dark patches — melasma — on their faces when they’re pregnant or taking birth control pills. An increase in melanin, the substance that gives skin its color, is responsible for these dark patches. Melasma usually fades after delivery or when you stop taking the pill. Prevent pigment changes by wearing sunscreen at all times and avoiding the sun. Melasma can also be treated with chemical peels or topical prescriptions of hydroquinone, retinoids, azelaic acid, niacinamide, kojic acid, or hydroxy acids that lighten the patches. But strict avoidance of sunlight is required.

Keep Harmful Rays Off Skin
Whether or not you were a sun worshipper, chances are your skin has sun damage. About 90% of all skin damage is due to the sun. As your time in the sun goes up, so does your risk of skin cancer. Protect skin by always wearing broad-spectrum sunblock. Look for products that contain zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, or avobenzone. Sunscreens with an SPF of 30 or higher are best. Wear wide-brimmed hats and long sleeves, and avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when rays are strongest.

How to Care for Aging Skin
As you age, your skin changes. Your body doesn’t produce as much collagen, and the elastin that allows skin to spring back into place gets weaker. You also don’t create or lose skin cells as fast. To boost aging skin, exfoliate to remove dead skin, use a nondrying soap, and moisturize often. Use over-the-counter retinoids to reduce fine wrinkles, or ask your doctor about a prescription version. Most of all, stay out of the sun.

Should You Drink Coffee or Wear It?
Caffeine in coffee and tea is dehydrating, so it may cause your skin to dry out. But a study found that when applied topically to skin, caffeine may help reverse sun damage and lower risk of some skin cancers — in mice, at least. Researchers are now trying to see if topical caffeine protects human skin, too.

Cut Yourself Off
Too much alcohol is bad for your skin as well as your body. Alcohol is a diuretic; it causes the body to lose water. That can contribute to dry skin. It also dilates blood vessels. That’s why drinkers often have red, flushed faces. Over time, these blood vessels can become permanently damaged, so that skin stays red. Alcohol, especially red wine, can also trigger rosacea flare-ups.

Quit, Already!
Simply put, smoking is bad for your skin: It’s second only to the sun in causing premature wrinkles and dry skin. In fact, under a microscope you can see wrinkles in smokers as young as 20. Smoking reduces blood flow to the skin and contributes to the breakdown of collagen. Less collagen means more wrinkling. And yes, pursing your lips repeatedly encourages wrinkles, too. You can’t reverse the damage, but you can stop it by quitting smoking.

Wash the Day Away
Every day, your skin comes in contact with pollution — cigarette smoke, car exhaust, or smoggy air. Keep skin healthy by keeping it clean. Depending on the needs of your skin, you can cleanse your face with a gentle soap or wash, or exfoliate nightly with gentle scrubs and toners to remove dead skin cells, and then apply a retinoid cream and moisturizer. (Oily skin still needs moisturizer; look for oil-free products.)

Inside and Out in Winter
Cold weather and wind bring on dry, flaky skin and can make eczema and rosacea worse. It’s not just the weather outside — dry heat indoors is harsh on skin, too. Fight back by using a humidifier at home, drinking lots of water, and applying moisturizer throughout the day. Remember the sunscreen when you go out.

Skin Care in Summer
Want a tan? Get a safe one: use a bronzer or sunless self-tanner. (But most don’t contain sunscreen, so they don’t offer any protection from the sun.) Remember to use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen on all exposed skin and to reapply every two hours or more frequently if you’re sweating or have been in the water. And unless you have persistently dry skin, switch to an oil-free moisturizer to avoid breakouts in humid weather. It’s a good idea to rinse off after being in the pool to get rid of any chlorine on your skin.

Tips for Skin Care in the Air
It doesn’t take long on a plane for skin to start feeling dry and tight, thanks to low humidity in the recirculated air. Have a travel plan for your skin that includes drinking water — not coffee or alcohol — and moisturizing before, during, and after your flight. Don’t wear makeup on the flight if you can help it. Keep a travel-size bottle of lotion in your carry-on bag.

Get Ready for Your Close-up
Hollywood lives by it: Changing the lighting can change the way you look. Fluorescent lighting can make skin tone appear more red or yellow, while incandescent lighting softens colors and imperfections. Use mirrors with varied lighting to view your skin and makeup under different conditions. That way you won’t look overdone or sallow as lighting changes. Go more dramatic at night, when lighting is lower.

THREE CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT

THREE GROUPS OF PEOPLE ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT

People will be divided into three groups on the basis of their deeds on the day of judgement

Maximum good deeds= Greatest rewards

Maximum bad deeds= Greatest punishment

Repentance = Forgiveness and Pleasure of Allah

Three Categories of People on the Day of Judgement

Tafseer Ibn Kathir : 56. Al-Waqi’ah

(7. And you (all) will be in three groups. )

(8. So those on the right — how (fortunate) will be those on the right!)

(9. And those on the left — how (unfortunate) will be those on the left!)

(10. And those foremost will be foremost.)

Allah’s statement,

(And you (all) will be in three groups.) This means that people will be divided into three categories on the Day of Resurrection.

Group on the right of Allah’s throne

Some will on the right of Allah’s Throne, and they are those who were brought forth from `Adam’s right side. This category will be given their Books of Records in their right hand and will be taken to the right side. As-Suddi explained that they will comprise the majority of the residents of Paradise.

Group on the left of Allah’s throne
Another category is those who will be placed to the left of Allah’s Throne, and they are those who were brought forth from `Adam’s left side. This category will be given their Books of Records in their left hands and will be taken to the left side. They are the residents of the Fire, may Allah save us from their actions.

Group which is nearest to Allah

A third category is comprised of those who are the foremost and nearest before Allah. They are in a better grade and status and nearer to Allah than those on the right side. They are the chiefs of those on the right side, because they include the Messengers, Prophets, true believers and martyrs. They are fewer than those on the right side;

so Allah said,

(So those on the right — how will be those on the right! And those on the left — how will be those on the left! And those foremost will be foremost.) Allah divides people into these three groups upon their death, as indicated by the end of this Surah. Allah mentioned them in His statement as well,

(Then We gave the Book as inheritance to such of Our servants whom We chose. Then of them are some who wrong themselves, and of them are some who follow a middle course, and of them are some who are, by Allah’s leave, foremost in good deeds.)(35:32) Muhammad bin Ka`b, Abu Hazrah Ya`qub bin Mujahid said that,

(And those foremost will be foremost.) is about the Prophets, peace be upon them, while As-Suddi said that they are the residents of the utmost highs (Ahl Al-`Illiyyin, in Paradise). The meaning of foremost is that they were foremost in performing the acts of righteousness just as Allah commanded them,

(And march forth in the way to forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth.)(3:133) and,

Competition for good deeds

(Race with one another in hastening towards forgiveness from your Lord, and Paradise the width whereof is as the width of the heaven and the earth.)(57:21) Therefore, those who rush to obey Allah in this life and are foremost in performing acts of righteousness, will be among the foremost believers honored in the Hereafter. Verily, the reward is according to the kind of deed, and as one does, so he is judged. So Allah said:

(These will be the nearest (to Allah). In the Gardens of Delight.)
PEOPLE ON RIGHT SIDE ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT; PEOPLE ON THE LEFT SIDE ON THE DAY OF THE JUDGEMENT; PEOPLE WHO ARE FOREMOST ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT; WHO ARE PEOPLE ON THE RIGHT SIDE? ;WHO ARE PEOPLE ON THE LEFT SIDE?; WHO ARE FOREMOST?; EXPLANATION OF SURAH WAQIAH; Book of records and deeds; people will be divided into groups and categories on the basis of deeds on the day of judgement; level and status of people on the day of judgement; ranking on the day of judgement; right and left side groups; winners and losers on the day of judgement; failure and successful people on the day of judgement; who are losers?; Who are successful people? Who are foremost and nearest before Allah; distribution of book of records and deeds on the day of judgement

How To Greet Someone in English | Spoken English

Greetings

There are different ways to greet people:

Greeting means welcoming someone with particular words or a particular action.

When meeting people formally for the first time, we greet by shaking hands and saying “How do you do?” or “Pleased to meet you.”

“How do you do?” isn’t really a question, it just means “Hello”.

When young people meet informally they sometimes greet and say “Give me five!” and slap their hands together (high five).

Generally we do not greet by shaking hands with people we know well. We greet by just saying ‘hi’ or ‘hello’

Here are some expressions you can use to greet people.

Greeting

Hi, hello.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening.

How are you?

How are you doing?

How do you do?

Responding to greeting

Hi, hello.

Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening.

I’m fine thank you (thanks)/Okey! Thank you (thanks)/Can’t complain/Not bad.

How about you?/And you?

How do you do?

Things to remember about greeting:

When you greet someone and say:

“How do you do?”

this isn’t really a question, it just means “Hello”.

Dua, prayers and Supplications of parents for their children are not rejected

Dua and supplication of father for his children is not rejected

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three prayers that will undoubtedly be answered: the prayer of one who has been wronged; the prayer of the traveller; and the prayer of a father concerning his child.”

Narrated by at-Tirmidhi (1905), Abu Dawood (1563), and Ibn Maajah (3862); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi .

Dua and prayers of mother

Al-Azeemabaadi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“the prayer of a father” – i.e., for or against his child. The mother is not mentioned because her right is greater, so her prayer is more likely to be answered.
‘Awn al-Ma‘bood , 4/276.

Dua and supplications of mother

An-Minnaawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“the prayer of a father for his child” – because he sincerely loves him and gives him precedence over himself. Because he is so sincere towards his child, his supplication is more likely to be answered. The mother is not mentioned, despite the fact that she has more right and is closer to her son, which means that her supplication is more likely to be answered than that of the father, because that is self-evident.
Fayd al-Qadeer , 3/301.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“the prayer of a father” – in some versions of the hadith it says “against his child” and in some version it is not mentioned; in other words, the father’s prayer may be for or against his child. This is the more correct version; the father’s prayer for or against his child will be answered. As for his praying for him, he prays for him out of compassion and mercy, and whoever shows mercy to people, Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, will show mercy to him. As for praying against him, he cannot pray against his son unless the son deserves that, and if he prays against him when he deserves it, then Allah will answer his prayer.

Prayers, dua and supplications of three persons are not rejected

These are the three answered prayers: the prayer of one who has been wronged; the prayer of the traveller, and the prayer of the parent, whether that is the mother or the father.
Sharh Riyadh as-Saaliheen (3/157), Dar Ibn Haytham edition.

How Sleeping Position Affects Your Health

How Sleeping Position Affects Your Health

We all have a favourite sleeping position, the one we joyfully settle into, without considering everything, toward the end of a long hectic day.

Sleep position is unquestionably a matter of preference. However, it’s much more than that. Our sleep positions have wide effects on the body.

Consider the big picture: you spend around 33% of your life asleep—that implies 33% of your time is spent relatively motionless, in a handful of sleep postures.

These sleep positions can influence how well and the amount we rest and affect our wellbeing. Research shows sleep position impacts our fantasies, and even has a connection with our personality!

Peruse on to find how your sleep position affects your health.

1.On your belly

Is it true that you are a tummy sleeper? If this is true, do you have issues sleeping? Your sleep posture may not be helping. You’re bound to be restless and toss and turn to get comfortable when you sleep on your tummy.

It can strain your neck and your lower back, as well. If this is how you like to rest, you might need to use a soft pillow or none at all to keep your neck comfortable.

Sadly, sleeping on your stomach is the worst position to sleep in. While a few investigations recommend that sleeping on your stomach can help with digestion and sleep apnea prevention, it can likewise cause a ton of issues with your spine.

It can squeeze the lower back and cause the neck to be turned at an unnatural angle for an excessive number of hours. The issue is that you can’t rest on your stomach with your head down, so turning the head to either side puts your spine at risk.

2. Back Sleeping

This position can cause low back pain for certain people. Furthermore, if you already have that, it can make it worse.

If you snore or have rest apnea, it can make those more serious issues, as well. If you have one of these issues and can’t get comfortable another way, converse with your primary care physician about what may help.

3. Sleeping on Your side

Uplifting news for the people who love to sleep on your side; this position doesn’t accompany a lot of medical problems. Truth be told, it can be a great position to avoid neck and back pain.

If you do sleep on your side and experience regular neck or upper back pain, chances are you need to get a more strong pillow or bedding. For those that experience the ill effects of regular heartburn, sleeping on your left side may help.

4.Starfish

Almost around 8 percent of people sleep on their backs with limbs splayed out at different angles. Although this position isn’t exactly as terrible for your spine as sleeping on your stomach, it can prompt lower back pain because it tends to flatten the lumbar region. You are additionally more prone to snoring and sleep apnea on your back.

5. Sleeping in A Fetal Position :

Research recommends that it is related to sensitivity and nervousness, as well as a longing for comfort. Fetal position sleepers might be reliable and coordinated, with a tendency to overthink things.

6. Sleeping with a Partner

If you share your bed with somebody, it can influence your wellbeing for the great, as well as in negative ways. The people who slept with a snorer could have a harder time remaining in a deep, helpful sleep.

On the other side, the people who shared a bed with somebody and enjoyed cuddle time prior to resting were bound to be more joyful and have a stronger relationship.

7.Freefall

If you sleep on your stomach with your head pointed out to one side or right, at that point you put yourself in a place to hurt your neck or back.

Although this sleeping position eliminates snoring and rest apnea, it squeezes your neck and spine because of negative curvature.

Moreover, this position adds to less soothing sleep because you are more likely to toss and turn.

For the best quality of health, the quantity of hours you sleep isn’t the main significant thing. It is likewise imperative to focus on your sleeping position.

Side sleepers are at the biggest advantage for great sleep and better wellbeing, with stomach sleepers being at the biggest disadvantage.

Natural Remedies And Benefits Of Aloe Vera Oil | Must Know

Natural Remedies And Benefits Of Aloe Vera Oil | Must Know

Soothing, moisturizing, healing and anti-inflammatory action, useful in case of acne, sunburn, eczema, itching, dry and dehydrated skin

Aloe vera, scientific name aloe barbadensis miller, is a succulent plant of the Aloeaceae family characterized by pulpy leaves that contain a precious gel widely used both for internal purifying treatments and for external curative applications. Aloe vera gel is easily found on the market, both in chemist’s and in herbalist’s shops, but today we are talking about another product, always obtained from aloe leaves, very interesting and useful for topical applications, aloe oil. From the maceration of aloe vera leaves in a plant based oil, generally sunflower seed oil, soy oil or sweet almond oil, you get this really special oil.

Aloe oil, properties

Aloe oil has a light color and is characterized by important cosmetic properties. It is in fact emollient, soothing, moisturizing and healing thanks to its active ingredient called acemannan or aloverose, which, based on scientific studies, is antioxidant and able to stimulate tissue repair (Xin et al, J Dermatol Sci, Aug 2015 – Liu et al, Molecules, Apr 2019). Therefore, aloe oil is useful in case of inflamed and irritated skin, such as after depilation, sunburned or acne-prone skin but also in the case of eczema, itching of the skin, dry and dehydrated skin.

Aloe oil, uses and applications

Aloe oil is a very interesting product. Compared to aloe gel, it is less effective because it is diluted, but it has the advantage that it can be kept for longer and, since it is an oil, it can be added without problems to oil based facial serums. These serums are very easy to make at home and, since they don’t contain water, they last longer. For example, in case of acne or irritated skin you can mix jojoba oil with aloe vera oil and apply a few drops of this serum on skin! If the skin is dry, you can also add apricot kernel oil. Aloe oil can be inserted in the DIY face cream formulations in the oily phase but it can also be used to create after-sun creams with a regenerating and calming action. Alternatively, aloe oil can be applied pure on the body and face after a shower, when the skin, still damp, can absorb it better. Aloe oil is also an excellent eye contour and can be massaged gently on the area.

A number of studies show that listening to music, especially classical or baroque, may help you unwind and improve your mood. So, listen to your favourite music snd get lost in it.

6.Sleep

A common side effect of stress is that you may struggle to fall asleep. If this happens three times a week for at least 3 months, you may have insomnia, an inability to fall and stay asleep. Lack of sleep can also add to your stress level and cause a cycle of stress and sleeplessness.

7.Deep breathing. When you practice deep breathing, you turn on your body’s natural ability to relax. This creates a state of deep rest that can change how your body responds to stress. It sends more oxygen to your brain and calms the part of your nervous system that handles your ability to relax.

Try belly breathing. Get comfortable, close your eyes, and place one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest. Take a deep breath in through your nose. You should feel your belly rise more than your chest. Now, exhale through your nose and pay close attention to how your body relaxes. Repeat.

8.Sell yourself to yourself. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, remind yourself of what you do well. Have a healthy sense of self-esteem.

There are several other methods you can use to relax or reduce stress, including:

Deep breathing exercises.
Meditation.
Mindfulness meditation.
Progressive muscle relaxation.
Mental imagery relaxation.
Relaxation to music.
Biofeedback (explained below).
Counseling, to help you recognize and release stress.
Ask your healthcare provider for more information about these techniques or other suggestions.

9.Eat healthily

Eating healthily can reduce the risks of diet-related diseases39
There is a growing amount of evidence showing how food affects our mood40 and how eating healthily can improve this
You can protect your feelings of wellbeing by ensuring that your diet provides adequate amounts of brain nutrients such as essential vitamins and minerals, as well as water41

10.Be aware of smoking and drinking alcohol
Try not to, or reduce the amount you smoke and drink alcohol
Even though they may seem to reduce tension initially, this is misleading as they often make problems worse42

Dua and prayers for dead parents

DECEASED PARENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHILDREN

It is one of the major responsibility of children ( son and daughter) to pray for their deceased parents

Children should make dua for their parents after their death

When a parent passes away remember that you have begun a new phase of birr (dutifulness) to that parent.

Birr after death is the truest and most sincere forms of birr because birr during their lifetime could be tainted with show-off, being polite (as opposed to sincere) and expecting praise from the parents or others. As for after their death, then only Allah hears and sees you.

A deceased parent is in greater need of his/her children – even more than when they the parent was alive. What children do for the parents during the parent’s lifetime is for the worldly needs.

But after death only Allah knows what good and bad is in store for the deceased in the grave.

Du’a – i.e., supplication to Allah – for rahmah (mercy), asking Allah to shower the deceased with His mercy is invaluable for the deceased.

Through the child’s Du’a, Allah – with His grace and mercy – enlightens the grave removing the darkness and expands the grave thus removing the suffering. And Allah makes the grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise for the deceased.

Therefore, always remember your deceased parent/s, and always ask Allah to shower them with His mercy, enlighten their grave and expand it.

For example as you are about have a meal think about the many wonderful meals your mother had prepared for you and how she looked after you all your life. Your heart will surely soften and at that point, let it drive you to offer a similar meal to an orphan, widow, divorced or needy person on behalf of your deceased parent, begging of Allah to reward them for it. Give charity on their behalf, recalling the many favours they did for you.

Never forget parents. No matter how harsh they may have been with you, only Allah knows the love they had in their hearts for you.

Remember them in your Du’a during sujood – the prostration – between the adhaan – the call for prayer – and the iqamah – the in-masjid call for prayer just a minute before congregational prayer, and in every act of worship and at all times.

Give charity on their behalf privately, wipe away the tears of orphans, widows and divorced (through charity) on behalf of your parents, quench the thirst of the thirsty on their behalf (by having a well dug, for example).

Go out of your way to be the best child to your parents for they have sacrificed much to raise you.

This is the Du’a for parents:

*رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا*
*Rabb-ir-ham-huma kama rabbayaani sagheera* {Quran surah 17, verse 24}

Translation :
‘My Lord .. Bestow thy mercy on my parent/s as they cherished and raised me in my childhood”

Ibrahim 14:41

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.”

Lastly let us teach our children about this Du’a for one day we all shall need it.

Stretch Marks:Causes And Treatment

Stretch Marks:Causes And Treatment | Must Know

Stretch Marks Are Scars
If your skin is stretched farther than it’s used to in a short period of time — during pregnancy or a childhood growth spurt, for example — the elastic fibers in your skin can tear. Those damaged areas make long, thin scars called stretch marks. They can show up as pink, red, or purple streaks.

Where You Get Them
You won’t get stretch marks on your face, hands, or feet, but they can be almost anywhere else. They’re most likely to be where your body stores fat, like your belly, hips, thighs, breasts, and buttocks. You also might notice them on your lower back or the backs of your arms. Genetics may play a role in stretch marks. For example, if your mother got them on her thighs during pregnancy, you may be more likely to have them there.

Anyone Can Get Them
An estimated 50% to 90% of women have them, but men can get them, too. It’s also common for teen girls (breasts, thighs, hips, or buttocks) and boys (lower backs or hips) to get stretch marks during growth spurts.

They Don’t Go Away
Like any other scars, stretch marks are permanent. But in time, they usually fade and become a little lighter than the rest of your skin — they may look white or silvery. If you feel self-conscious about them, remember, more than half of adults have them.

Cause: Weight Gain
You can get stretch marks when you’re young and your body is changing quickly. The more weight you gain and the faster you gain it, the more likely you are to have stretch marks. Putting on lots of muscle mass quickly, as bodybuilders sometimes do, can also cause them.

Cause: Pregnancy
They’re most common during and after your sixth month. Your body expands as your baby grows, but that might not be the only reason for stretch marks. Changes in your hormones during pregnancy can affect your skin and make it more likely to “tear.”

Cause: Medication
Some drugs can cause weight gain, swelling, bloating, or other physical changes that stretch your skin and lead to stretch marks. Hormones (like birth control pills) and corticosteroids (which ease inflamed areas of your body) are two that can do this. If you take a medication and are concerned about stretch marks, talk to your doctor about things you can do about them.

Cause: Medical Conditions
Any health condition that leads to weight gain, sudden growth, or skin problems may cause stretch marks. Some medical conditions lead to physical changes that can bring them on. For example, problems with your adrenal glands, like Cushing’s disease and rare conditions like Marfan and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (which affect the tissues that connect body parts), can make you more likely to get them.

Can You Prevent Them?
Experts think genetics play a role in stretch marks, but if your parents had them, that doesn’t mean you will, too. One of the best ways to prevent them is to keep your weight steady. Drinking plenty of water may help prevent damage when your skin stretches. And foods that keep your skin healthy may cut your odds, too. Eat foods rich in zinc, like nuts and fish, and ones with vitamins A, C, and D, like citrus, milk, and sweet potatoes.

See a Dermatologist
A board-certified skin specialist is the best person to talk with about skin issues, including stretch marks. She can tell you about the best treatments for your skin type, and ways to lower your odds of getting more. Be sure to tell her all the medications you take (including vitamins and over-the-counter drugs) and if you’ve had any other health problems.

What May Help: Retinol Products
Retinol, which comes from vitamin A, may help make stretch marks less obvious. It makes your skin cells shed, or “turn over,” faster and may make new skin grow faster, too. The catch: You have to start using it soon after stretch marks show up, and then use it regularly for it to work. And the type of retinol that’s been shown to work (tretinoin) is only available by prescription. Talk to your dermatologist about whether you should try it.

What May Help: Laser Therapy
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery says laser or light therapy can make stretch marks less noticeable — light triggers skin changes that help stretch marks blend in. Research shows they’re most effective for medium-tone skin. Laser treatments can be expensive, and it can take 20 sessions to see results. If you go the laser route, see a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has worked with your skin tone.

What May Help: Self-Tanning Products
These lotions and sprays can darken your stretch marks and make your all-over skin tone look more even. That can make them less obvious, especially if they’re white or very light in color. You may have to try different products and shades before you find one that works best for you.

Not Likely to Help: Exfoliating
Ads for exfoliating treatments may claim that they make stretch marks less noticeable. Scrubs, buffs, and microdermabrasion (this removes the top layer of skin with a tool) can make your skin smoother. But there’s no proof that any of these treatments actually help — and some dermatologists think microdermabrasion may make stretch marks worse.

Not Likely to Help: Most Lotions and Creams
Many skin products claim to fade stretch marks. But there’s little evidence that over-the-counter products can fix the torn elastic fibers that cause them. And experts don’t know if rubbing oils or cocoa butter products will prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, either. They may make your stretching skin less itchy, though, which can make you more comfortable.

Great Food Combos For Losing Weight

Losing Weight

Power Pairs
When it comes to slimming down, two (or more) foods can be better than one. That’s because each has different nutrients that work together. As a team, they can help you fend off hunger, stay full longer, and burn fat or calories better than they would solo.

Avocado and Dark Leafy Greens
A spinach or kale salad is low in calories and high in nutrients, but it can leave you wanting more. To make it more filling, top it with avocado. It’s likely to be more satisfying since it has a kind of good fat (monounsaturated) that staves off hunger. Bonus: Avocado also helps your body absorb more of the veggies’ disease-fighting antioxidants.

Chicken and Cayenne Pepper
Chicken breasts are known to be good for weight loss, and for good reason. One breast serves up 27 grams of protein for fewer than 150 calories. Protein takes longer to digest, and that can keep you full longer. Spice up this dinner staple with a rub or sauce made with cayenne pepper. It may boost your calorie burn and make you less hungry.

Oatmeal and Walnuts
A simple way to slim down: Eat the rough stuff. Simply adding more fiber to your diet can lead to weight loss. That’s because your body can’t break down fiber, so it slows down digestion and takes up space in your stomach. With 4 grams of fiber per cup, oatmeal can be a good source. Walnuts can add about another 2 grams, plus satisfying protein and crunch.

Eggs, Black Beans, and Peppers
Start your day with this protein-packed scramble. According to research in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, people who had eggs for breakfast ate less for the rest of a day and a half than those who had a bagel. Black beans and peppers make this morning meal even more filling, thanks to a double dose of fiber.

Bean and Vegetable Soup
Add a broth-based vegetable soup to your lunch or dinner. The liquid fills your stomach, leaving less room for higher-calorie foods. One study showed that people who started with soup ate 20% fewer calories during a meal. Stirring in beans, such as chickpeas or black beans, can give it more staying power because they’re high in protein and fiber.

Steak and Broccoli
Too tired to hit the gym? This meal can help you out. Beef is rich in protein and iron, which your body uses to build red blood cells. They take oxygen to your organs, so falling short in those can zap your energy. Broccoli is the perfect side, because its vitamin C helps your body take in iron. A half-cup of this veggie has 65% of all the vitamin C you need in a day.

Green Tea and Lemon
If you need a pick-me-up, brew some green tea. The low-calorie drink is packed with antioxidants called catechins, which may help you burn more calories and fat. One study suggested that drinking 4 cups of green tea every day may lead to decreases in weight and blood pressure. To make it even healthier, add a squeeze of lemon — it helps your body absorb them.

Salmon and Sweet Potato
Fish is often called “brain food,” but it’s also good for your waist. Its omega-3 fats may help you lose body fat, and salmon is a top source. Plus, one 3-ounce serving packs in 17 grams of protein. Serve it with a baked sweet potato for a filling yet light meal. A 5-inch-long spud has 4 grams of fiber and just 112 calories.

Yogurt and Raspberries
This creamy treat may help turn up the fat burn. Research suggests that people who get more calcium and vitamin D as part of a weight loss plan shed more fat than those who don’t. So, look for a vitamin D-fortified yogurt, which serves up about 35% of all the calcium you need in a day. Top it with half a cup of raspberries for sweetness and 4 grams of fiber.

Mushrooms and Ground Beef
You can eat burgers and lose weight — the key is to swap at least 50% of the meat for chopped or ground mushrooms. With only 16 calories a cup, they can lighten any dish made with ground beef without skimping on flavor. They may also help keep your blood sugar levels steady, which helps curb cravings.

Olive Oil and Cauliflower
At just 27 calories a cup, cauliflower is a diet-friendly food. It’s also low on the glycemic index (GI), a measure of how much a food raises your blood sugar. One study showed that low-GI vegetables led to more weight loss than starchier ones, such as peas and corn. Drizzle chopped cauliflower with olive oil and roast it — this brings out the flavor, and olive oil’s fats can curb your appetite by making you feel full.

Pistachios and an Apple
Need a midday snack? This combo offers protein, healthy fats, and fiber to fend off hunger. With about 160 calories for 50 of them, pistachios are one of the lowest-calorie nuts. Plus, they’re usually packaged in their shells, which can slow you down and keep you from munching mindlessly. The apple adds sweetness and crunch to your treat, along with 4 grams of fiber.

Fish, Whole-Wheat Tortilla, and Salsa
One of the top reasons weight loss efforts fail is taste. Eating bland foods at every meal can lead to a junk food binge. So it’s important to have healthy, flavorful dishes in your lineup. Fish tacos are a perfect example: Make them with white fish for lean protein and a whole-wheat tortilla for fiber. Top them with some salsa for extra vitamins.

Dark Chocolate and Almonds
Swearing off sweets sounds like a good way to drop pounds, but it can backfire. Nixing them altogether can lead to overeating. With about 7 grams of sugar per ounce, dark chocolate is one dessert you can feel good about eating. Pairing it with high-protein almonds keeps your blood sugar levels steady, and that can keep you satisfied longer.

Control your blood pressure

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), approximately half of American adults have high blood pressure (hypertension), but the majority (75 %) do not have it under control.Maintaining a healthy blood pressure is important for everyone, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

High blood pressure remains the leading cause of heart attack and stroke, and it is a contributing factor in poor outcomes for individuals who contract COVID-19, the American Heart Association says. Fortunately, high blood pressure also is the most significant controllable risk factor in maintaining heart health.

“Lowering your blood pressure is one of the most important things you can do to reduce your risk of dying from a heart attack or stroke,” says Willie Lawrence, M.D., chief of cardiology, Research Medical Center, and American Heart Association volunteer expert. If you have high blood pressure, work with your healthcare provider to manage your risks. Some small changes that can make a big difference:- Know your numbers. Check your blood pressure regularly with a validated monitor; a value of 120/80 mm Hg (described as “120 over 80”) or lower is considered normal, while a value greater than 130/80 is considered high and increases the risk for heart attack or stroke.

Blood pressure values are expressed as millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and list the systolic number followed by the diastolic number.- Take your meds. If your doctor prescribes medication to help control high blood pressure, take it as directed, but talk to your doctor if you have concerns.

Also, let your doctor know if you are taking over-the-counter medicines, as these can sometimes interfere with prescription drugs doing their jobs. Some over-the-counter pain relievers, namely ibuprofen and naproxen, can increase blood pressure, the American Heart Association says. Consider acetaminophen for pain relief, or ask your doctor for other options.- Live healthfully. Maintaining a healthy weight, getting regular exercise, and eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products and low in saturated fat can help promote healthy blood pressure. In addition, try to keep sodium consumption below 1,500 mg per day.

Why flu shot makes sense

“Getting the flu vaccine is especially important this year, because of COVID-19,” according to the American Heart Association.”If you get the flu, you may need to be hospitalized, in this time of COVID, in an already overwhelmed healthcare system.

Get your flu shot, avoid getting the flu, and stay out of the hospital.” says Eduardo Sanchez, M.D., MPH, FAAFP, AHA chief medical officer for prevention.CDC recommends annual flu vaccinations for nearly all persons 6 months of age and older. However, some populations are at increased risk of the flu, and it is especially important for these groups to get vaccinated:- Seniors, adults aged 65 years and older may be more vulnerable to the flu and potential complications.- Individuals with underlying chronic health conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.- Children, especially those younger than 5 years and those who have returned to in-person school.- Pregnant women, who may be at increased risk of the flu because of immune system changes during pregnancy.- Individuals who are Black or Hispanic; data suggests that these populations may be at increased risk of the flu and flu-related complications.

Unfortunately, the myth persists that the flu vaccine causes the flu. Not true — the flu vaccine may cause mild side effects such as soreness, redness, or swelling at the site of the injection that may last a few days, or mild, flu-like symptoms that are far less severe than the actual flu.Getting a flu vaccine is easy and safe. Doctors’ offices are taking additional precautions this year, such as designating certain areas of their offices for flu vaccine clinics, or offering drive-thru service.

Flu vaccines also are available in most pharmacies, and through some employers where offices have reopened with added precautions such as drive-thru access. For those who are without insurance, free flu vaccines are available through community pop-up centers and federally funded community health centers.

The sooner you get a flu shot, the sooner you are protected, but it is never too late. A flu shot at any point during flu season is better than not being vaccinated at all, according to the CDC.However, getting a flu shot doesn’t mean to stop paying attention to other healthy habits. Traveling Tips and Tricks or Guide That Can Help You

Traveling Tips and Tricks or Guide That Can Help You(Best Travelling Life Hacks or Travel Hacks)

1)”Exploring parts unknown, whether domestically or internationally, is a pastime that hundreds of millions of individuals embark on each year. For families, travel is even more precious because it allows parents to expose their children to something that could be out of their norm. That said, with all the benefits of travel come some stressors that can impede on the travel experience for just about anyone, but you don’t have to let those ruin your vacation. Below, ưe will take a look at 23 travel hacks that can make your vacation more productive, fun, and comfortable.”

2) “Travel Hacks Before You Leave. Instead of a hotel, look into reserving a home if traveling with a family, or a single room if alone. Websites like AirBnB can provide homes and private rooms from home owners who are renting them out, usually offering better accommodations than hotels.”

3)”Roll your clothes when packing. Instead of creating a folded pile in your suitcase, rolling allows you to fit more things in. Plus, you can even roll underwear and socks within your clothes for optimal space-saving.”

4)”Scan your passport, identification card, and itinerary and email them to yourself. This provides an extra copy of each in the event of loss or theft. As an iPhone user, once I email the documents to myself, I usually open the email on my iPhone and save them onto iBooks. This provides me with an offline record.”

5)”It’s important to remember to call your credit or debit card company before you leave to ensure that you have your card authorized for your foreign destination. This prevents them from suspecting suspicious activity.”

6) “Mark your baggage as fragile. This is a tip I learned a while ago from a friend who found it to be a great way to ensure that your baggage is handled correctly. Your luggage is kept at the top because of this, which will make it one of the first bags to be released.”

7) “Travel Hacks For the Departure. Bring your own water bottle. Depending on the airline’s own policies regarding drink costs, the amount of times water is offered may not be to your liking. Having your own water bottle ensures that you have water when you want it. When they do come around, top off your bottle with what they give you.”

8)”Never underestimate the value of a fanny pack. Yes, they can be embarrassing and seemingly out of the mid-to-late 1980s, but trust me—every time I travel, even domestically, it has ensured that my valuables are safe, and it expedites security checks.”

9) I found a life tip: “Splurge on Internet service if your flight is more than six-and-a-half hours long. You’ll thank me when you find that sparking conversation with your seat partner is harder than pulling teeth. Plus, you can complete work for the last time before you hit your destination”.

10)”Ensure that you have a pen before leaving home so you can complete customs forms. Fill the forms out when you get them, and ensure that your family members have theirs filled as well. People will clamour for your pen; flight attendants rarely have them.”

11) “20 minutes before you land, sprint for the bathroom. Usually when the seatbelt light comes on, I’ve found that you still have 15 minutes of leeway until you truly have to be seated. Use this opportunity to relieve yourself to prevent fighting for restrooms when you land.”

12)”Travel Hacks When You Arrive. Dart directly for baggage claim. It is amazing how many people seem to lollygag after landing. Save that for someplace else to save yourself time and to prevent any arguments with fellow travelers.”

13) “Use ATMs to get local currency. Using money converters in the airport usually come with their own fees and the exchange rates are a rip-off. ATMs always dispense local currency, of course, so use your debit or credit card and get your money there.”

14) “Ensure that you have Yelp downloaded for domestic travel in the US. This is a great city guide for both travelers and locals alike, and is best way to find the most amazing places to eat and sightsee.”

15)”Shop for groceries when you arrive. You don’t have to shop for a feast, but getting basics like water and a few snacks in local stores instead of at the hotel can save you a ton.”

16) “When in your room, remove only the necessities from your luggage. Trying to make yourself at home by taking out every pair of shoes and all of your toiletries will only make repacking a living hell, and it increases your chances of forgetting something when it’s time to go home.”

17)”Exploring Your New Location. Use guidebooks sparingly. I recommended Yelp because it allows you to discover a few places off the beaten path. Guidebooks only presents you with tourist spots; even those that advertised themselves as being off the beaten path.”

18) “Use the local language as much as possible. It reflects well not only on you, but also on Americans/your nationality in general. It shows you are willing to make the effort, which can work in your favour in some situations.”

19)”Have a souvenir list prepared, and stick to it. This will save you money and prevent you from purchasing something that “you’ll find someone to give to another time”.”

20) “Eat locally only. Save McDonalds, if you have to eat it in any location, for when you’re home. Trying the local cuisine will save you more money and allow you to experience new and flavorful meals.

21)“When in Rome, do as the Romans” is a general saying that I like to translate it as, “don’t be a stubborn traveler, and get out of your comfort zone”. If a country advises modest dress, for example, follow through. It can even ensure your safety as a foreigner.”

22) “Travel Hacks for Returning Home. If you are a frequent traveler, live out of your toiletry bag and keep it packed. This will allow the packing process to be a bit easier and will prevent you from having to make expensive toiletry purchases if you forget something.”

23) “Use IFTTT when sharing traveling photos to make it seamless and easy. “Recipes” like sharing automatically to Dropbox or Evernote will allow you automatically to have a copy of your precious photos.”

24)”Unpack immediately when you enter the door. You may be tired out of your mind, but you’ll be glad you did it in the morning. Plus, it saves your luggage from smelling like soiled laundry.”

Amazing Benefits of Drinking milk

Benefits of Drinking milk

In western cultures, milk is commonly seen as a vital part of a balanced diet, providing essential nutrients such as calcium, protein, and vitamin D. Sources of milk and milk products include cows, sheep, camels, goats, and others. “Milk alternatives” include soymilk, almond milk, flax milk, coconut milk, and hemp milk. This article will focus on cow’s milk.

Nutritional content
The nutritional breakdown of milk depends on the fat content.

One 244-gram (g) cup of whole milk with 3.25 percent fat and added vitamin D contains:

149 calories
8 g of fat
12.32 g of sugars
7.69 g of protein
276 milligrams (mg) of calcium
205 mg of phosphorus
322 mg of potassium
124 IU of vitamin D
One 245-g cup of nonfat or skim milk with added vitamins A and D has about:

83 calories
0.2 g of fat
8.26 g of protein
12.47 g of sugars
299 g of calcium
247 mg of phosphorus
382 mg of potassium
115 IU of vitamin D
Milk also provides choline, magnesium, vitamins A, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12.

Calcium

Calcium has many functions in the body. Its primary job is to develop and maintain healthy bones and teeth.

It is also important for blood clotting and wound healing, maintaining normal blood pressure and muscle contractions, including heartbeat. It may help reduce the risk of some types of cancer. It is important to try to pair calcium-rich foods with a source of vitamin D to improve absorption. The National Institute of Health (NIH) recommends 1,000 mg a day of calcium for individuals over 18 years of age. British experts recommend 700mg calcium per day.

Choline

Choline is known as a “vitamin-B like factor.” It is an important nutrient that helps with sleep, muscle movement, learning, and memory.

It contributes to:

maintenance of the structure of cellular membranes
transmission of nerve impulses
absorption of fat
reduction of chronic inflammation
Potassium

High potassium intakes are associated with a reduced risk of stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, protection against loss of muscle mass, preservation of bone mineral density and reduction in the formation of kidney stones.

A high potassium diet is associated with a 20 percent lower risk of dying from all causes.

The recommended daily intake of potassium for all adults is 4,700 mg per day, but fewer than 2 percent of Americans are estimated to meet this requirement.

Vitamin D (fortified)

Vitamin D is important for the formation, growth, and repair of bones. It also plays a role in calcium absorption and immune function. Deficiency has been associated with osteoporosis, depression, chronic fatigue, muscle pain, PMS, hypertension, and breast and colon cancer.

Health benefits
The nutrients in milk can benefit the body in various ways.

Bone health

Milk can be good for the bones because it provides vitamin D and calcium. This has been thought to make milk and milk products, such as yogurt, useful in helping to prevent osteoporosis. However, Harvard research reveals that high calcium intake, even from dairy, is not associated with lower risk of fractures or osteoporosis. In fact, in countries with some of the lowest calcium intake, around 300mg per day, such as Japan, India, and Peru, bone fractures are lower than in the US. Other strategies to boost bone health include regular physical activity and strength training, avoiding smoking and eating a diet low in sodium and high in potassium.

Brain health

Researchers from the University of Kansas have found that older adults who consume more dairy products have a higher amount of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, in the brain. Those who consumed three daily servings of milk and milk products had antioxidant levels that were approximately 30 percent higher compared to adults who had less than half a serving. With more research, this study could suggest a new benefit of milk consumption.

Blood pressure and heart health

The high potassium levels in milk can help to protect the heart.
A higher potassium intake and a lower sodium intake are important for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, according to the AHA. In one study, those who consumed 4,069 mg of potassium per day had a 49 percent lower risk of death from ischemic heart disease than those who consumed about 1,000 mg of potassium per day. Leafy greens like spinach and kale are also good sources of potassium, along with citrus fruits, bananas, tomatoes, and prunes. However, too high an intake of full-fat dairy products can also increase the risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease.

Depression

Adequate vitamin D levels support the production of serotonin, a hormone associated with mood, appetite, and sleep. Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with depression in adults.

Milk provides vitamin D, and it is a good source of calcium. Calcium in milk helps the body absorb vitamin D.

Muscle building and weight loss

Milk is a natural source of high-quality protein, necessary for preserving or increasing lean muscle mass. A healthy amount of muscle supports metabolism and contributes to weight loss and weight maintenance. A high-protein diet appears to lead to greater muscle mass and weight loss, but further research is needed to confirm the long-term benefits. Excess protein can increase acid production and use more calcium from bone to neutralize the acids. This can be detrimental to bone health. Research from the Nurses’ Health Study showed that women who ate 95 grams of protein were more likely to have a broken wrist than women who ate a moderate protein intake of 68 grams per day.

Risks
Some people choose to not consume dairy to follow a vegan diet, a paleo diet, or to try to reduce acne and other conditions. Some argue that humans are the only species who continue to drink milk after being weaned, indicating that milk consumption is unnatural. Others have read conflicting research and question the importance of dairy in their long-term health. Some people avoid milk because it triggers an allergic reaction, or they have a lactose intolerance or sensitivity.

Allergies, intolerances, and sensitivity

A lactose intolerance happens when a person does not have enough of the enzyme needed to break down the sugar found in milk for proper digestion. For these people, consuming milk and milk products can lead to bloating, flatulence, or diarrhea. Lactose-free milk has added enzymes to help with lactose digestion. This may ease or eliminate these symptoms. Levels of lactose intolerance vary between individuals.

One person may tolerate products with low levels of lactose, such as yogurt and hard cheeses. Another may be unable to tolerate even a small amount of milk in their coffee. A milk allergy is different from lactose intolerance. It refers to an abnormal immunologic reaction, in which the body’s immune system produces allergic antibodies, such as immunoglobulin E (IgE).

Symptoms include:

gastrointestinal distress, with vomiting and diarrhea
asthma
eczema
bleeding
pneumonia
A severe reaction can trigger sudden anaphylactic shock, which can be fatal.

Those with a milk allergy must strictly avoid milk and dairy in any form, including butter, whey, milk, yogurt, and cheese. Sensitivity to casein, a protein in milk, is different from an allergy and lactose intolerance. It can trigger inflammation throughout the body, producing symptoms such as sinus congestion, acne flares, skin rash, and migraines.

Many people can consume dairy products without experiencing an adverse reaction. Anyone who suspects that dairy could be causing symptoms can ask a dietitian to guide them in an elimination diet or recommend food sensitivity testing. This can help determine whether a dairy-free diet may be appropriate.

Cancer risk

High calcium intake from dairy products is associated with a possible increased risk of ovarian cancer in women, and high calcium intake from any source can cause prostate cancer in men.

Flavored milks

Flavored milks with added sugar, syrups, artificial sweeteners, binders, and other ingredients are not generally a healthful option.

Checking the ingredients on the label can help the consumer to check what it is in the pack. While research supports long-term calcium intake from a variety of sources for overall health, it remains unclear if more than one serving of dairy a day is necessary or beneficial to reduce bone fracture risk. Each person needs to make their own, informed decision to follow a healthful diet. What suits one person may not suit the next. A registered dietitian can help an individual make the right decision

What’s a lightning bolt ? | Natural Hub

During bad weather, children and adults alike dread the deafening sound of thunder when they see lightning in the sky.

This climatic phenomenon happens during storms.
Huge masses of air move and gain electricity charge by friction resulting in the accumulation of several charges in the huge black clouds.

The water molecules go up and get positive charges while the heavy water molecules remain at the base and get negative charges.

When the electrical load is too large, a discharge of lightning occurs between the areas of opposite charges, causing a huge spark and thus lightning in all its beauty is formed.

Lightning can occur between clouds and the ground or inside the cloud in several forms, it can be branched, fulminated or sinuous…

Benefits of Onion

 Amazing Benefits of Onions

Onions are part of the allium family of vegetables and herbs, which also includes chives, garlic, scallions, and leeks. Allium vegetables have been cultivated for centuries for their characteristic, pungent flavors and also for their medicinal properties.

Onions can vary in size, shape, color, and flavor. The most common types are red, yellow, and white onions. Flavors can be sweet and juicy to sharp, spicy, and pungent, often depending on the season in which they are grown and consumed. It is estimated that 105 billion pounds of onions are harvested each year, worldwide. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), China is the biggest producer. The possible health benefits of consuming onions include lowering the risk of several types of cancer, improving mood, and maintaining the health of skin and hair.

Fast facts on onions:

  • Onions have been used as food for thousands of years; in ancient Egypt, they were worshiped and used in burial rituals.
  • Onions have many possible health benefits including reducing the risk of obesity, heart disease, and cancer.
  • They are high in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
  • Incorporating onions into a diet is very simple, with a versatile range of ways they can be prepared and cooked in regular foods.

Possible health benefits of consuming onions
Consuming fruits and vegetables of all kinds has long been associated with a reduced risk of many lifestyle-related health conditions.

Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like onions decreases the risk of overall mortality, diabetes, and heart disease.

Plant foods also promote a healthful complexion, hair, increased energy, and overall lower weight.

Cancer

Allium vegetables have been studied extensively in relation to cancer, especially stomach and colorectal cancers. Their beneficial and preventive effects are likely due in part to their rich organosulfur compounds. The exact mechanism by which these compounds inhibit cancer is unknown, but hypotheses include the inhibition of tumor growth and mutagenesis, and prevention of free radical formation. Onions are also a source of the strong antioxidant vitamin C that helps to combat the formation of free radicals known to cause cancer.

Colon cancer

High fiber intake from all fruits and vegetables are associated with a lowered risk of colorectal cancer. One study showed that consuming greater than 7 servings of onions per week was associated with a decrease in colorectal cancer.

Prostate cancer

In a paper, published by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, researchers used a population-based, case-controlled study to investigate the relationship between allium vegetable intake and prostate cancer. They found that men with the highest intake of allium vegetables had the lowest risk of prostate cancer.

Esophageal and stomach cancer

Frequent intake of allium vegetables has been shown to reduce the risk of esophageal and stomach cancer. Several survey-based human studies have demonstrated the potential protective effects of consuming alliums, as well as reports of tumor inhibition of allium compounds in animal experiments.

Sleep and mood

Folate, found in onions, might help reduce depression. Homocysteine prevents blood and other nutrients from reaching the brain, and folate prevents this chemical from building up. Excess homocysteine also interferes with the production of the feel-good hormones serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which regulate not only mood, but also sleep and appetite.

Skin and hair

Onions are high in vitamin C, which is needed for the building and maintenance of collagen, which provides structure to skin and hair.

Potential health risks of consuming onions
The risks of onion consumption are minimal. However, as with all food that may otherwise be healthful, overconsumption comes with potential health risks. Allergy sufferers may have a problem consuming onions, too. It is the total diet or overall eating pattern that is most important in disease prevention and achieving good health. It is best to eat a diet with variety than to concentrate on individual foods as the key to good health.

Nutritional breakdown of onions
Onions are a nutrient-dense food, meaning that while they are low in calories, they are high in beneficial nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. One cup of chopped onion contains approximately 64 calories, 15 grams of carbohydrate, 0 grams of fat, 0 grams of cholesterol, 3 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, and 10 percent or more of the daily value for vitamin C, vitamin B-6, and manganese. Onions also contain small amounts of calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, and the antioxidants quercetin and sulfur.

How to incorporate more onions into your diet

Look for onions that are dry and firm with little to no scent before they are peeled.

Adding onion is a great way to add flavor to a dish without adding extra calories, fat, or sodium.

They are a staple in many kitchens and pair well with most dishes. They can be chopped and used fresh as a topping for sandwiches or salads and added to salsas and dips.

Recipes that include onions as a primary ingredient include:

  • French onion soup
  • onion bhaji
  • blooming onions

They can be sautéed, roasted, grilled, or caramelized,

Brief history of onions

Onions have been used by civilizations for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians used them in their mummification rituals, with the pharaoh Ramesses IV being found with onion bulbs in his eye sockets.

Experts are unsure of the precise origin of onions in the world, as the wild onion is extinct. According to the National Onion Association (NOA), bulb onions were the first things planted during European colonization by the Pilgrim Fathers in 1648.

Why do onions make you cry?
Onions are known to make you cry when chopping or cutting them. This is due to the presence of a gas called syn-Propanethial-S-oxide.

It is a compound liquid that acts as what is called a lachrymatory agent – something that causes tears or stings the eyes. A study published in Nature proposed that it might be possible “to develop a non-lachrymatory onion by suppressing the lachrymatory factor synthase gene while increasing the yield of thiosulphinate. Thiosulphinate is responsible for the flavour of fresh onion, and is converted to compounds reported to exert hypolipodaemic and antiplatelet aggregation effects. Although downregulating alliinase itself would also lead to a non-lachrymatory onion, its flavour and nutritional value might be compromised.”

There are a few ways to help avoid onion tears, these include:

Cutting onions in a small pool of water, this can help keep the gases from making contact with your eyes.
Using an extractor fan, exhaust hood, or even just opening a window for a fresh source of air can prevent the compounds from irritating the eyes.
Cutting the onion near running water, or a cloud of steam.
Seeing as an onion that doesn’t make you cry might not taste so good, it is probably best to just cope with the potential tears while chopping onions as they usually do no harm.Ref: Health Benefits of Fruits:Health Diet
